OBE has been nominated for the SILMO d’or 2024 in the section “Technological Innovation for eyewear” with its new product called “Polepower Click”. The award ceremony will take place during the Silmo trade fair in Paris on September 21th at the Caroussel du Louvre. This is OBE's sixth nomination - having won two Silmo d'Or in 2003 and 2008.
Polepower Click is an innovative and patented hinge based on a magnetic mechanism. Its special feature is that it clicks into two defined positions and produces a clear click each time it clicks into place. It is screwless and maintenance free. The strong magnetic effect ensures reliable movement. In addition, the construction is hermetically sealed, which protects it from external influences and at the same time prevents radiation to the outside.
Polepower Click has a diameter of 11 mm - a smaller version is currently in development.
