Our history
OBE - a traditional company driven by passion
OBE has a history spanning over a century and more than 50 years of experience in hinge technology for eyewear. Over this long period, OBE has established itself as a renowned specialist in articulation technology. With numerous patents in hinge design, OBE has proven to be a preferred partner for traditional eyewear manufacturers and has expanded its production internationally. Recently, OBE successfully extended its expertise to the smart glasses market, offering both standardised and customised solutions to meet the dynamic demands of the industry.

For our exceptional environmental commitment, we have received the Resource Efficiency Award from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology and additionally the Environmental Technology Award from the Ministry of the Environment of Baden-Württemberg. At the same time, we are listed as one of 100 companies in Baden-Württemberg for resource efficiency.
